Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
This is two full-day course providing essential training in lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques for adults, children, and infants. Designed for both workplace and home environments, the program also includes instruction on the proper use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
The curriculum follows the latest first aid and CPR guidelines and meets the legislative requirements set by most provincial and territorial workplace safety and insurance boards across Canada.
Each participant receives their own set of adult and child manikins, along with an AED trainer. To ensure safety and hygiene, there is no equipment sharing during training.
Course Compliance:
- WSIB-compliant and meets Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Workplace First Aid (WFA) standards
- Final written exam is required for certification

What You’ll Learn:
Emergency Response Basics:
- How to call EMS and provide critical information
- Activating and instructing bystanders during an emergency
- How to assess the scene for safety
- Primary assessment of victims (checking consciousness, airway, breathing, and circulation)

CPR & AED Use:
- Performing CPR on adults, children, and infants
- When and how to operate an AED safely
Choking Response:
- How to recognize and respond to choking emergencies across all age groups
Injury Assessment & Care:
- Conducting a head-to-toe examination
- Treatment of primary and secondary emergencies
- Bandaging techniques for:
- Major bleeding (tourniquet application)
- Embedded objects (including in the eye)
- Hip or femur fractures
- Spinal injuries (with spine board stabilization)
- Forehead injuries
Immobilization Techniques:
- How to apply slings (standard and tubular) and their appropriate uses
Medication Administration:
- Safe use of an EpiPen
Certification: Valid for 3 years
